(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League has drafted former Cavalier and Walsh alumnus Brook Clark with their second round pick this season. He's the first Cavalier to sign to play professional baseball.
Clark is a 6-1, 190-lbs. native of Canton, Ohio, who played his prep career at McKinley High School. He was a utility infielder for the Cavaliers who started his career at third base before making the transition to second for his senior season.
Last season, he helped the Cavs reach the GLIAC Tournament championship game. In the tournament, he hit a three-run walk-off home run against Hillsdale to send Walsh to the championship.
The Beach Bums will open up the season today at Schaumburg, Ill., just outside of Chicago.
Traverse City is located in northwest Michigan and a suburb of Blair Township. The Beach Bums play in the East Division of the Frontier League which is entering its 25th season of existence.
