(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh gave No. 11 Findlay a run for the money, but a second half rally wasn't enough as the hosts fell 72-60 at Alumni Arena on Saturday. The Cavaliers (15-6, 10-5) remain in third in the G-MAC standings, while the Oilers (21-3, 15-1) clinched at least a share of the conference championship.
The Cavs trailed 41-28 at halftime, but opened the second on a 20-8 run. A 3-pointer by Bo Furcron pulled Walsh within one at 49-48 with 11:54 remaining to cap the run. However, it was the closest the Cavaliers would get as Findlay started to extend its lead once again.
Steven Carpenter had his best game of the season as he scored 18 points on 7-of-12 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers. He was only a point shy of Findlay's Martyce Kimbrough for game-high honors.
Darryl Straughter added 13 points and knocked down three triples himself. Furcron finished with 11 as the remaining Cavalier in double-figures. He added five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in defeat.
Walsh will look to get back in the win column as it continues its home stand against Trevecca on Thursday evening. Tip-off with the Trojans is set for 5:30 p.m.
