(INDIANAPOLIS) – With the regular season coming to a close, Walsh sophomore guard Chandler Vaudrin (Uniontown, OH/Lake HS) was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week again on Monday.
Vaudrin was named the conference player of the week for the third time this season to lead all players.
Walsh recorded two wins and the Cavaliers have cemented themselves in the top tier of the league standings currently tied for second.
In game one of the week for Walsh, Vaudrin finished with a double-double and was just one rebound away from making it a triple-double. In the 74-65 home win over Trevecca, the sophomore guard put in 10 points and added 10 assists. He added three steals and shot 5-of-9 from the floor.
The second game of the week saw Walsh again defending the home floor, this time defeating Kentucky Wesleyan 102-68. In just 32 minutes for Vaudrin, he posted a triple-double with 14 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds.
He ended up with twice as many assists in the contest as Kentucky Wesleyan did, and set the single-game conference record in the process.
He now has four triple-doubles this year alone, tops across all NCAA levels.
Vaudrin's leap to stardom as a sophomore has helped him serve as the conference leader in assists with 7.8 per contest. He also leads the league in steals per game as well as ranks second in both field goal percentage as well as rebounds.
