Men's Basketball Caps Off Conference Double Header With 96-65 Win

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio)- The Walsh University Men's Basketball team put on an impressive performance with their 96-65 win over Ohio Valley putting them at 5-3 on the season.

For the Cavaliers, Darryl Straughter and JT Shumate led in points with 24 a piece. Shumate contributed 7 rebounds and went a show stopping 5-5 from behind the arc. Straughter also had 7 boards and shot 60 percent from the three point line. Sterling Christy was just shy of a double-double with 18 points and 9 rebounds. He was 7 for 10 from the field and dished out 5 assists. Caleb Canter dominated the glass both offensively and defensively with 12 combined rebounds. Conner Wess came off the bench to provide 6 assists in an all around team effort as every Cavalier in the lineup scored. 

For the Fighting Scots, Ty Dobson was the lead scorer with 17 points, 15 of which were from deep. 

The Maroon and Gold outscored the Scots in the paint 38-26, and never relinquished the lead to capture their second conference win this season. 

The Cavaliers host Wright St. Lake Monday night at 7PM in Alumni Arena.
