Men's Golf Third at Battle at the Beach Event

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) – The Walsh men's golf team started spring play with a third place finish at the Battle at the Beach event hosted by Alderson Broaddus Friday and Saturday. The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 636, three stokes from tying Virginia Wesleyan for second place.

Lewis won the event with a 608. Alderson Broaddus finished fourth with West Virginia State rounding out the competition in fifth.

Drew Savage led the Cavaliers with a 155 over two days. He shot an 80 on the first day before improving on his second round by five strokes. He finished sixth overall in the individual standings. Nick Colangelo had the best round of the Walsh group on the first day with a 76 and carded an 82 today for a total of 158.

Zach Keylor was third for the Cavaliers with a 159 split between an 81 and a 78. Brian James completed the team scoring with a 164 on an 83 and 81.

Ian Haidle and Austin King also played with Haidle scoring a 176 with a 92 and 84. King only played the first round and shot an 84.

The team will return to action with a Bash at the Beach event on Monday and Tuesday.
