Men's Golf Opens Up Fourth Regional At Pergatory

(NOBLESVILLE, Ind.) – The Walsh men's golf team opened up play in Regional No. 4 of the season as teams from the Midwest gathered at Purgatory Golf Club. The Cavaliers shot a first round score of 313 to place 20th out of 29 teams competing.

Grand Valley State leads the field with a 285 overall. Saginaw Valley State sits in second with a 291. The middle of the field has been competitive with just four strokes separating 17th from 22nd.

Drew Savage had the best round for the Maroon and Gold today as he fired a 74 to put him in a tie for 21st individually. Nick Colangelo and Zack Keylor both shot in the 70s as well as each recorded a 77. Brian James completed the team score with an 85. Ian Haidle tallied an 88 as the fifth member of the team.

The Cavaliers will resume play and complete the event tomorrow.
