(FINDLAY, Ohio) – The Walsh men's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the season with a sixth place finish at the G-MAC Fall Invitational hosted by Findlay yesterday and today. The tournament only went 27 holes as inclement weather forced only nine holes to be completed on the final day.
The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 456 after an even 150 today. It was the fourth-best round of the day after Malone (147) and Kentucky Wesleyan and Findlay which both shot 149. Findlay won the event with a 436 total between two days. The Pioneers were second with a 443.
Drew Savage and Noah Frase were the top players for the Cavaliers today as they both carded 35 on their nine holes. Brandon Obermiller turned in a 39 and Noah Drlik completed the team score with a 41. Mark Mokros was the fifth player on the team and scored a 42.
Savage finished the tournament with a 108, good for a top-five finish. Frase scored a 111 and finished tied for ninth.
Walsh will return to the links next month at the Flyer Intercollegiate hosted by Lewis in Chicago.
