Men's Golf Opens Season At Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff

(TAMPA, Florida) - The Walsh University Men's Golf Team opened their Spring season today in Tampa at the six team Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff. The Cavaliers posted a team score of 326 to start round one of the 54 hole event. 

With a chilly start to the day, Senior Drew Savage posted a 77 in his opening round. Noah Frase was second on the board and followed right behind Savage with a 79 in his first round. Brandon Netzel carded an 80 for the Maroon and Gold while Sam DiMeo and Jake Barth each tallied 90 respectively. Patrick Duffy entered the event as an individual and carded a 96 for his opening round. 

Grand Valley State is leading the way after day one firing an opening round of 294. Alex Scott from Grand Valley has a lock on first place after carding an opening round 70.

The men tee it up tomorrow morning for round two of the event.
