(MISENHEIMER, N.C.) – The Walsh men's lacrosse team fell to Pfeiffer in its first of two games over spring break by a score of 11-8 at NE Lefko Field Wednesday evening. The Cavaliers (0-3) took a 3-1 on a fast start in the first nine minutes of the first quarter, but the Hawks (2-6) responded with seven unanswered goals.
Benjamin Suchomma eventually put the Cavaliers back on the board with a goal at the 11:33 mark of the third quarter to make the score 8-4. After another Hawks goal, the Cavaliers scored the next three on goals by Suchomma, John Arnold, and Alex Hudgens.
Suchomma scored his third sandwiched between two more Pfeiffer goals, but the Cavs could get no closer as the Hawks ran out the clock.
Ryan Rafac was superb on face-offs as he won 15-of-19 and picked up 12 ground balls. Suchomma picked up six ground balls.
The Cavaliers will stay in the Carolinas to take on North Greenville on Saturday. Face-off is scheduled for 12 p.m.
