Cleveland State Takes Down Walsh 13-7

(CLEVELAND) – The Walsh men's lacrosse team traveled up I-77 to take on Division I Cleveland State at Krenzler Field, but were defeated by a score of 13-7. The Cavaliers (1-11) rallied for six goals late in the game, but it wasn't enough to come back from the early onslaught by the Vikings (4-8).

The Maroon and Gold were held scoreless until the second quarter when Nicholas Castorf scored off an assist from Ryan Martin to make the score 4-1. After that, it wouldn't be until the fourth quarter when the Cavs scored again.

Bryan Crim started the late rally with a power play goal on another Martin assist. It started a string of three goals scored in just 76 seconds with Zach Macaluso and Martin also scoring.

Crim added one more while Benjamin Suchomma added the final two goals for the Cavs.

Dylan Ciolino reached double digits in saves once again with 15 on 47 shots faced. Mark Guzik added seven ground balls to also help the Cavs on the defensive front.

Walsh will return home to take on new conference rival Davis & Elkins on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
