Cavs Downed By Lakers

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh fell to visiting Mercyhurst in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action by a score of 16-3 at Vasco Field on Tuesday afternoon. The Cavaliers fell to 1-9 overall and 1-3 in the G-MAC, while the Lakers improved to 7-4 and 3-2.

Walsh's goals came from Maurice Kelly, Kevin McMahon, and Frank Savena with each one coming late in the period. Kelly's goal came with 41 seconds left in the first on an assist from Kevin Maxey to make the score 5-1. Maxey also assisted on McMahons goal five seconds before the half. Kelly provided the final assist on Savena's goal which was the final one of the game.

Jake Cieszysnki added four ground balls to lead the Cavaliers. Noah Ross made seven saves through three quarters, while Pat Finger played the fourth and came up with four.

Walsh now heads to the Mountain State this weekend for a pair of games. The Cavs will take on Alderson Broaddus in the first of those on Saturday at 1 p.m.
