Walsh Falls On Road To Alderson Broaddus

(PHILIPPI, W.Va.) – The Walsh men's lacrosse team fell in the first of two games in West Virginia by a 12-7 margin to Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers fell to 1-10 overall and 1-4 in the G-MAC, while the Battlers improved to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

The Cavaliers played close with the Battlers at the start of the game with goals by Kevin McMahon and Frank Savena in the opening quarter, but Walsh was kept off the scoreboard in the second quarter.

Maurice Kelly, Kevin Maxey, and Marcus Brown all added goals in the third quarter, while McMahon and Savena both scored their second goals of the game in the fourth.

Maxey did well defensively with six ground balls on the day to lead the team. Jake Selvage also played well with five ground balls and four caused turnovers. Benjamin Suchomma added five ground balls as well.

The Cavs will remain in north-central West Virginia as they take on Davis & Elkins tomorrow at 1 p.m.
