Walsh, Rain Falls In First Of Two Contests With ODU

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Not much went right for Walsh as it fell to Ohio Dominican 3-0 on a rain-soaked Milazzo Field on Saturday evening. The Cavaliers (2-2-1, 0-2-1) will get another crack at the Panthers (3-2, 2-0) when the two meet in Columbus for their next game on Thursday.

Ohio Dominican scored all three goals in the first half. The first found the back of the net in the 15th minute as Ryan Kasprzak scored on the assist from Jonathan Barnes. Barnes provided the next goal in the 35th on an assist from Zach Ziolo, who also assisted the final goal by Tyler Arnold two minutes later.

Despite the three goals, Tom Jackson was excellent in goal as he prevented more from being scored. Of the 25 shots faced, 13 were on target with Jackson making nine saves (the remaining save was from a defensive player).

The Maroon and Gold did come away with some excellent opportunities of their own to score, but all four shots on goal were saved.
