Men's Tennis Opens Up ITA Regionals

(GREENWOOD, Ind.) – The Annual Division II ITA Midwest Regional Championships started today with the as Walsh took part in singles and doubles action.

Felix Zimerman was the only Cavalier to win his opening match and did so in come-from-behind fashion as he took down Ben Kasprzak of Missouri-St. Louis. Zimmerman dropped the first set 6-4, but rebounded to win the second by the same margin before the third set tiebreaker.

In the Round of 32, Zimmerman was defeated by No. 4-seeded Arklon Huertas of UIndy by scores of 6-2 and 6-1.

While Vidmanov fell in his first match, he advanced to the third round of the consolation bracket after a 9-7 win over Zachary Kuo from Bellarmine.

The ITA Regional Championship will resume action tomorrow before its conclusion on Sunday.
