Men's Tennis Downed By Wayne State

(CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh met former conference foe Wayne State this evening, but unfortunately fell at home 9-0. The Cavaliers are now 4-2, while the Warriors improved to 3-1.

The Cavs had opportunities to take a few matches and played close in a few of the nine. Vasily Vidmanov and Rodrigo Garcia came the closest at first doubles, but fell to the duo of Mats Westkamp and Taylor Vane 8-6. The Cavs fell in their other two doubles matches by identical scores of 8-5.

In singles action, Heitor Adegas forced a tie-breaker third set, but fell 4-6, 6-0, 10-6. Vidmanov also battled at first singles, but fell 6-3, 6-4.

Walsh now heads on the road for its next two matches. First up will be a trip to Lewis a week from today.
