(ALLENDALE, Mich.) – The Walsh men's track and field team closed out the GLIAC Outdoor Championships today with multiple placements in various events. The Cavaliers placed in seven different events on the final day, with both relays highlighting the day.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Trenton Beachy, Daizon Earl, Seth Wieland, and Hunter Williams placed fifth with a time of 42.40. The 4x400 meter relay team, which also featured Earl in addition to Solomon Yoder, Chad Justus, and Sherman Kortze, placed sixth with a time of 3:19.57.
Marcus Myers placed once again, this time in the discus, as he reached a distance of 50.02 for sixth place in the throws.
Yoder placed seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.27. Kortze finished eighth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.17. Phil Burt was eighth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.27. Ronald Robinson closed out the placings with a finish of eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.66 meters.
Overall Walsh finished ninth with 25 points. Ashland won the championship with 175 points. Tiffin was second with 162.
