Men's Track & Field Off To Strong Start In Outdoor Season

(CALIFORNIA, Pa.) – It was a busy weekend for the Walsh Track & Field teams as they sent split squads to California's Early Bird Invitational and Muskingum's Amy Adams Invitational. Between both meets, there were plenty of placers in a variety of events.

The men's team had quite the day as the Cavaliers took first place in seven different events. Trenton Beachy won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.38. Hunter Williams won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.35. He was fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.05.

Jacob Kernell was first in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 3:57.83. Jacob Caniford was second and right behind him at 3:59.06. Noah Murray won the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:16.41. Fellow Cavaliers Spencer Wirick (15:32.09), Justin Maroni (15:36.85), Ed Walsh (15:38.13), Tyler Pace (15:41.44), and Jared Bugaj (15:43.87) finished second, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively.

Lane Knoch won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.91. Bryce Ostheimer was fourth with a time of 15.86. Zachary McClaskey was fifth with a time of 16.02. McClaskey won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.73.

Walsh won the 4x400 meter relay as the team of McClaskey, Brandon Neal, Williams, and Solomon Yoder ran a time of 3:24.75.

Jacob Turner was second in the 10,000 mere run with a time of 32:07.06. Nick Marino was sixth in the same event with a time of 32:57.79.

Bryce Patrick was second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with atime of 9:58.52. Alexander Reimund was third at 10:28.53. Andrew Dowdell was second in the pole vault with a height of 4.45 meters.
Ronald Robinson was third in the triple jump with a distance of 13.04 meters. Turner was second in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 32:07.06.

At Muskingum, James Miller was second in the shot put with a distance of 16.01 meters.
Marcus Myers was second in the discus with a throw of 47.83 meters. He later went on to win the hammer throw with a provo mark of 60.16 meters. Bradley Gallitz was second in the same event with a distance of 50.59 meters.
