(LEWISBURG, Pa.) – Walsh wrapped up a successful weekend in track & field in the Keystone State on Saturday evening. A select group of Walsh Cavaliers went to Bucknell for the Bison Invitational and turned out impressive results.
On the men's side, Jacob Caniford won the 1,500 meter run with a time of 3:55.74. Jacob Kernell was eighth in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:12.50. Steven Kapes was ninth out of 50 in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 30:09.07. Spencer Wirick was 14th out of 51 in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 31:40.10. Mark Hadley finished 15th out of 78 in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:34.09.
For the women, Brianna Coy won the 5,000 meter run with a time of 17:12.56.
All athletes competed against a majority of Division I competition.
The Cavaliers will be back in split squad action with a few select athletes heading to California for the Mt. SAC Relays/Bryan Clay Invitational. Others will head to the Slippery Rock Open and the Jessie Owens Classic.
