Noah Murray runs in the 2017 Ric Sayre Invirational
(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Plenty of activities took place all around the city of North Canton on a spectacular Fourth of July. The events started early with races taking place in the morning by the North Canton YMCA with a few Walsh student-athletes crossing the finish line before anyone else.
Two won their respective events as Jacob Caniford won the two-mile, while Noah Murray crossed first in the five-mile. Caniford crossed the finish line with a time of 9:38, while teammate Ed Walsh was right behind him at 10:01 for the third-place finish.
Murray showed his patriotism while breezing to a win in the five-mile event as he saluted those in attendance and crossed the line at 26:23. Fellow Cavalier Spencer Wirick was right behind him for the silver finish at 26:45.
Well over 1,000 people competed in the races.
