  • Walsh Tabs Anna Ball as New Softball Head Coach

    Walsh University Vice President and Director of Athletics Dale Howard has announced the hiring of Anna Ball as the new head coach of the Cavaliers softball team. Ball comes to Walsh after serving as the head coach for Lawrence Tech since 2015.
  • Softball Trio Named to All-GLIAC Team

    The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Announced its 2017 All-GLIAC Softball Teams and Postseason Awards in conjunction with the Conference’s annual softball tournament at the Marathon Diamonds today. Three Walsh Cavaliers were named to the All-GLIAC Team with Olivia Pifer named to the Second Team, while Jenna Head and Leah Roten were named to the Honorable Mention Team.
  • Softball Sweeps Storm To End Season

    Walsh softball swept Lake Erie in its final series on Friday by scores of 2-1 and 14-10 to close the season.

    The Walsh softball team battled Grand Valley State in both games today, but were shutout in both games by scores of 2-0 in eight innings and 3-0.
  • Softball Swept By Ferris State

    The Walsh softball team’s win streak was snapped as it was swept by Ferris State by scores of 2-1 in eight innings and 3-1 this afternoon. The Cavaliers are 12-31 on the season and 2-16 in the conference, while the Bulldogs improved to 16-20 overall and 9-9 in the conference.

    The Walsh softball team boosted its win streak to three games with a sweep of rival Malone by scores of 2-1 and 11-0 in five innings on Wednesday afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 11-29 on the season, while the Pioneers dropped to 14-25-1.

    The Walsh softball team battled Wayne State tough in a pair of games, but was unable to come out with a win with defeats by scores of 2-0 and 3-1 on Saturday. The Cavaliers are now 9-26 on the season and 1-11 in the GLIAC, while the Warriors are 30-10 overall and 9-5 in the conference.

    Walsh and Notre Dame College met for a non-conference doubleheader with the Cavaliers winning Game 1 5-2 before the Falcons forced the split with a 5-4 win in eight innings in Game 2.

    The Walsh softball team was swept by visiting Ashland by scores of 3-1 and 8-2 on a warm Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 8-23 overall and 1-9 in the conference.

    The Walsh softball team battled visiting Ohio Dominican and forced a split with the visitors with a 5-3 win in Game 1 and a narrow 2-1 defeat in Game 2. The Cavaliers are now 8-21 on the season and 1-7 in the conference. The Panthers are even both overall at 18-18 and in the GLIAC at 5-5.

    The Walsh softball team was swept by a tough Charleston team by scores of 4-0 and 9-1 in five innings in the Mountain State’s capital this afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 7-19 on the season. The Golden Eagles improved to 23-10.

    The Walsh softball team dropped both games on the road by scores of 3-1 in eight innings and 7-2 in the nightcap. The Cavaliers are now 7-18 overall and 0-6 in the GLIAC. The Oilers improved to 15-12 overall and 5-1 in the conference.

    Walsh was swept by Saginaw Valley State by scores of 19-0 and 1-0 in its twin bill Saturday afternoon at the WU Softball Complex. The Cavaliers are now 7-16 on the season and 0-4 in the GLIAC, while the Cardinals are 15-6 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

    The Walsh softball team dropped both of its conference opening games to Northwood by scores of 6-1 and 10-5 on Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 7-14 overall, while the Timberwolves, who were also playing in their GLIAC opener, improved to 12-13.

    The final day of spring break competition for the Walsh softball team was split between a pair of 7-1 games. The Cavaliers (7-12) dropped the first against Illinois-Springfield (9-10), but rebounded well to leave the Sunshine State on a winning note against Kutztown (8-4).

    The Walsh softball team split another day of competition down in the Sunshine State with a 5-2 win over Minnesota State-Moorhead and a 1-0 loss to LIU Post. The Cavaliers are now 6-9 on the season and 5-5 in their spring break games.

    The Walsh softball team split its only true doubleheader of its spring break with a 5-3 loss and a 3-1 win against future conference rival Trevecca Nazarene. The Cavaliers are now 4-7 on the season while the Trojans move to 8-7.

    The Walsh softball team dropped both games in the season opening day at the Dome Invitational just outside of Chicago on Friday. The Cavaliers dropped the first game to Lindenwood by a score of 5-1 before a 6-4 defeat to Lewis to close the day.

  • Magnificent Seven Sign With Walsh Softball

    Walsh Softball Head Coach Jaime Porter has announced the signing of seven student-athletes who will play for the Cavaliers for the 2017-2018 season. Six of the seven hail from Ohio while one will venture here from California.
  • Softball Anounces Clinic Camps For January, February

    The Walsh softball team has announced a pair of instructional clinics for students of various ages in January and February. The first will be the Junior Cavaliers Pitching / Catching Clinic on January 14 and 21. The second will be the Prospect Clinic on January 28 and February 4.
