(FINDLAY, Ohio) – The Walsh softball team dropped both games on the road by scores of 3-1 in eight innings and 7-2 in the nightcap. The Cavaliers are now 7-18 overall and 0-6 in the GLIAC. The Oilers improved to 15-12 overall and 5-1 in the conference.
In the opener, both teams scored one run each in the fourth. Abbey Yaugher provided the RBI on a single and allowed Kesley Putman to score while attempting to go to second. However the Oilers were able to tie it in the bottom of the frame with a bases loaded walk. Findlay then walked off in the eight with a home run over the left field fence.
In the second game, Walsh took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth. Yaugher was able to score Putman once again on a fielder's choice bunt back to the pitcher. Rock later scored to give Walsh a 2-1 lead on after an error from Findlay's shortstop.
Findlay was able to jump back on top in the sixth with six runs and held on for the win.
The Cavaliers will return to action Wednesday when they head down I-77 to take on the University of Charleston for a doubleheader. First pitch from the Mountain State is set for 3 p.m.
