Cavs Hire Barley as Assistant Softball Coach

The softball team has hired Jackie Barley has the new full time assistant coach for this upcoming season 2017-2018 season. She joins the coaching staff after spending one season at Lawrence Technological University coaching alongside current Cavs' Head Coach Anna Ball.

While with the Blue Devils, she worked to recruit 22 players for the first year program. She also assisted in practice planning as well as developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs. Before her time with the Blue Devils, she was assistant varsity coach as well as head JV coach at Adrian College,

Barley also has international coaching and playing experience. In 2016, she helped the Austrian National Team prepare for the Surrey Women's World Softball Championship. She also spent some time playing with members of the the Austrian National Team on a professional level and helped a group of Austrian National Team members as they prepared for a tournament in Surrey.

Barley finished her collegiate playing career at Madonna University in 2012 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.  As a shortstop, she was named First Team All-WHAC, First Team All-Region, and WHAC Conference Player of the Year in her senior season as well as being named an All-American.

Barley is a native of Tecumseh, Michigan.
