Walsh Stays Perfect in Myrtle Beach

 (MRYTLE BEACH, S.C.)- Walsh (6-2) stays perfect in Myrtle Beach defeating Malone (1-1) 8-6 in thrilling fashion and Glenville State (2-5) 6-1. 

Malone jumped out to the early lead in the first, but Walsh answered with two in the first. Walsh led for most of the game until Malone put up four runs in the fifth. Walsh matched those runs in the sixth to clinch the victory for the Cavaliers. Annie Woolf was 2-3 with four RBI. Rebekah Hoffee was a perfect 3-3 scoring 2 runs for the Cavaliers. Alaina Manor was the other Cavalier to have a multi-hit game with two.

Walsh used four pitchers to get the victory. Shelbi Gregg (1-0) got her first win of the season pitching 2.1 innings striking out 2 and scattering two hits. Olivia Pifer picked up her first save of the season.

Walsh had command of Game Two from the beginning. Walsh exploded for six runs in the first inning, but that was it for the Cavaliers. Woolf and Brooke Six were both 2-4 while Danni Murtaugh was 2-3. Woolf lead the team with three RBI. Abbey Yaugher also had a multiple RBI game with two.

Pifer (4-1) picked up the win. She struck out nine batters and gave up nine hits over seven innings.

Woolf was 4-7 with double and seven RBI on the day.

The Cavaliers are back in action tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. against Ohio Valley and 11:30 a.m. against Waldorf.
