Women's Basketball Comes Out On Top In Win Over Findlay

(FINDLAY, Ohio) - The Walsh Women's Basketball team won its third straight conference game of the season againt Findlay 70-66 on the road at Croy Gymnasium. This win puts the Cavaliers at 6-2 on the season and 3-0 in the conference.

The freshmen duo of Carter and Scarton for the Maroon and Gold helped secure a big conference victory on the road. Quionche Carter was doing what she does best. Coming off her G-MAC Athlete of the Week honors, Carter led the way with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the Cavs. She went an impressive 14-14 from the free throw line, adding to her 80 percent season average, and added 3 assists on the night. Lexie Scarton aided in the Cavalier victory with 17 points, 6 boards and 2 assists, her best game as a Cavalier.

Senior Shelby Henkel was unstoppable on the boards for the Cavs with 17 total rebounds and also added 8 points. Jill Blacksten tallied 11 points, 8 boards and 2 assists in the Cavalier triumph.  The Cavs outrebounded the Oilers 50 to 38 which helped them take advantage of 23 second chance points to the Oilers 9. 

Anna Hintz led the Oilers with 14 points and 6 rebounds.

The Maroon and Gold head to Michigan Saturday to battle Hillsdale at 1 PM.
