(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) - Despite dominating efforts in the first and third quarters, the Cavs fell short in an 80-75 loss on the road to Trevecca. The loss drops Walsh to 7-4 overall, and 4-2 in the G-MAC. The Cavs were undeated in conference play coming into this roadtrip, but dropped two in a row to Kentucky Wesleyan and now Trevecca. The Trojans improve to 3-7 overall, and 2-3 in the conference, following today's contest.
Freshman Quionche Carter once again led all scorers with 30 points on 8-14 shooting. She also made 14 of 18 free throws. Jamie Halloran was the only other starter for the Cavaliers to reach double figures, as she added 10 on the day. Shelby Henkel led the team in rebounds and assists, with eight and four, respectively.
Coming off the bench, Jill Blacksten showed efficiency as she chipped in 13 points in 20 minutes.
Callie Hacket led the way for Trevecca with 21 points, four assists, and two steals. Two other Trojan starters reached double figures in Brittin Boyer's 17 point performance and Adi Hale's 15 points.
Walsh will play one more game before Christmas when they travel to West Liberty on Tuesday, Dec. 18 to take on the Hilltoppers at 2 p.m.
