(CANTON, Ohio) – The first round of the Cav Classic was played today as the Walsh women's golf team is hosting 11 teams for the event being played at Glenmoor Country Club. The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 353 after the first round.
Walsh University and Glenmoor will also serve as hosts for the NCAA Division II Super Regional next month.
Northern Michigan currently leads the field with a 307 after the first day. Grand Valley State sits in second place by two strokes. Both teams had three players each shoot in the 70s to head to the front of the pack.
Amanda Scala fired the best round for the Cavaliers as she shot an 85. Kerra Loomis and Gina DePasquale both carded an 89. Michele Vlacovsky rounded out the team score with a 90. Brooke Morgan scored a 102 as the fifth member on the team.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow with everyone teeing off at 9:30 a.m. on a shotgun start.
