(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – This weekend Walsh University will welcome 12 teams and six individuals participating in the NCAA Division II Women's Golf East Super Regional championship. Walsh will be hosting the tournament at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, and admission is free to the three-day event. The NCAA Division II Women's Golf Super Regional Competition will be conducted Monday through Wednesday, May 8-10.
Each super regional will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently with 12 teams and 6 individuals from non-qualifying teams at each site. Participants will arrive Saturday with a practice round on Sunday before the first round on Monday.
Teams competing in the East Super Regional include Indianapolis, Findlay, Missouri-St. Louis, Grand Valley State, Northern Michigan, Ashland, Northwood, Illinois at Springfield, Lewis, Southern Indiana, Gannon, and California (Pa.).
Individuals participating in the super regional championship include Camden Morrison of Franklin Pierce, Alexa Rippy of Trevecca Nazarene, Alessandra Ricigliano and Krystal Knight of Merrimack, Alexandria Trask of William Jewell, and Destiny Lawson of Ferris State.
All participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each super regional will advance to the championships.
The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at Glenmoor features 10 holes with water challenges and greenside slopes and mounds that can be unpredictable. The par-72 course is 6,197 yards long.
The 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships will be held May 17-20 at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 72.
