(WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla.) – The Walsh women's golf team improved upon yesterday's score by 19 strokes, but still finished sixth in the GLIAC vs. G-MAC Stroke Play tournament at Saddlebrook Course. The Cavaliers finished with a two-day total of 711 after a 365 yesterday and a 346 today.
Grand Valley State easily won the event with a 616 and was the only team to break 300 in either of the two rounds. The Lakers were 32 strokes better than second place Northern Michigan.
Danica Steiner was playing as an individual, but had the best finish of anyone in Maroon and Gold. She went through the first round with an 84 and improved today to an 80 for a 164.
Danielle Roshong topped the Cavaliers team with a 175 split between a 92 and an 83. Kerra Loomis followed with a 98 and an 82 for a 180 the best improvement from the first round to the next. Michele Vlacovsky, Lexus Roshong, and Amanda Scala all tied each other with a 182. Sierra Townsend was also included in the six-player team and totaled a 192.
