(INDIANAPOLIS) – After a spectacular tournament at Saginaw Valley State's Spring Invitational, Walsh junior Michele Vlacovsky has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference's Women's Athlete of the Week in golf. The junior was the G-MAC's top finisher in the tournament over the weekend.
Vlacovsky tied for fifth in the field with a two-round score of 151 (75-76) as Walsh tied for third overall as a team. A total of five Great Midwest schools were competing, including Trevecca, Ohio Dominican, Kentucky Wesleyan and Alderson Broaddus, in the 17-team field.
Vlacovsky's scoring average paces Walsh on the season through 13.5 rounds at 84.07.
The Cavaliers posted their best rounds of the 2017-18 season with a 315 in the first round and a 325 in the final round.
It is also the third time this season that Vlacovsky has broken 80 on the scorecard this year. In the fall, she carded a 78 in the second round of the Beall Fall Classic. Vlacovsky has the top three individual rounds on Walsh this season.
