(LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio) – The Walsh women's golf team wrapped up its last major tournament of the season with a fourth place finish in the G-MAC Championships on Tuesday. The weather was slightly improved and allowed the Cavaliers to finish with a two-round total of 684.
The Maroon and Gold improved upon yesterday's total by an amazing 20 strokes to finish the second round with a 332. All four golfers shot between an 82 and 84 for the total, whereas yesterday Walsh's quartet was between 82 and 93.
Lexus Roshon turned in the best round today with an 82 to finish the tournament with a 175. Michele Vlacovsky and Kerra Loomis both shot 83 on the day as the next top Cavaliers. Vlacovsky wrapped up the championships with a 165 to finish 12th in the individual standings. Loomis was 16th with a 171.
Findlay cruised to the title with a 616 after the Oilers scored a 298 in Round Two. Trevecca Nazarene was the runner-up with a 657. Ohio Dominican dipped slightly, but still finished third with a 667. Malone completed the top five two strokes behind Walsh with a 686.
The Cavaliers will complete the season in a couple weeks as they host the Cav Classic at Glenmoor.
