Women's Golf Battle Wind and Rain- Sit Tied for Third After First Round of Season Opener

 (ERIE, Pa.) - The Walsh University Women's Golf team battled the wind and the rain in their season opener at the Michael Corbett Invitational hosted by Gannon University. The Cavaliers currently sit tied for 3rd out of a field of 20 with an opening round of 328. 

Leading the way for the Cavaliers was Kerra Loomis with a 78 which has her tied for 3rd individually. Michele Vlacovksy and Kayleigh McHugh carded rounds of 81 respectively. Alexis Green turned in an opening round of 88 and Sierra Townsend rounded out the team scores with a 94.

Tiffin University leads the field with a team score of 319. Gannon University sits 8 shots back with a team total of 327. Walsh and West Chester University both sit tied for 3rd with scores posted at 328. Ashland University and the University of Charleston round out the top of the field tied at 333.

The Maroon and Gold tee it up tomorrow morning for the final round at 9 a.m.
