(LEXINGTON, Kentucky)- The Walsh University Women's Golf team wrapped up the final round of the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invite yesterday in Lexington. The 36 hole event was being played at Kearney Hills Golf Course just outside of Lexington. The Cavs would go on to improve by 13 shots on day two to finish the day with a team total of 328 landing them 17th out of 23 total teams.
Michele Vlacovsky would set the pace for the Maroon and Gold and card an 80 in her final round of the event. Her consistent play on day two would place her tied for 20th out of a field of 126 players. Kayleigh McHugh would also go on to score well for the Cavaliers on day two with an 83 adding to her round one 81. McHugh would end up placing tied for 44th place at the conclusion of the event.
Two other Cavaliers would make big strides on day two to help the Cavs move up in the field. Seniors Kerra Loomis and Amanda Scala would each improve 9 shots from the prior round, each carding 81 on the final round of the tournament. Freshmen Alexis Green would post an 86 to round out the lineup for the Maroon and Gold.
The Cavaliers have a few weeks off and return to the links April 8-9 when they head to Columbus for the NC4K event hosted by Ohio Dominican University.
