Women's LAX Selected Third In First G-MAC Poll

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The 2018 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour was released Friday and Walsh has been selected the finish third in its first season in the conference. The Cavaliers came away with 26 points in the voting process.

Finishing ahead of the Maroon and Gold were G-MAC favorite Lake Erie and Findlay. The Storm was selected first with five first place votes and 35 points. The Oilers weren't too far behind with 32 points and two first place votes.

Picked in fourth was defending G-MAC tournament champion Alderson Broaddus with 21 points. Ursuline, Davis & Elkins, and Ohio Valley rounded out the poll with 16, 11, and six points, respectively.

Walsh was an even .500 last year but unfortunately missed out on the postseason with six defeats in its last seven contests. The Cavaliers ended up beating Ohio Valley, Alderson Broaddus, Ursuline and Davis & Elkins in the month of March.

The Cavs open up the season a month from tomorrow with a non-conference showdown with Savannah College of Art and Design.
