Women's Lacrosse Wins G-MAC Opener

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) - Walsh picked up its first win the Great Midwest Athletic Conference by defeating Ohio Valley by a score of 18-7 at Vasco Field on Friday. The Cavaliers evened the season at 2-2, while the Fighting Scots dropped to 2-4 in both team's conference opener. 

Emma Armour got the Cavaliers on the board early scoring an unassisted goal 76 seconds into the game. Amour scored three of her four goals in the first 12 minutes of the game. Armour also assisted on two goals for six points in the game.

Skylar Crandell kept Walsh's momentum going in the second half scoring two of her four goals in the first five minutes. Crandell had four goals and one assist overall in the day.

Sarah McCormick had another impressive game for the Cavaliers with three goals and two assists. Jenny Spragg also had two assists for the Cavaliers while scoring two goals.

Walsh dominated defensively causing 29 Ohio Valley turnovers. Mikaela Faus picked up the win between the pipes with one save.

The Cavaliers are back in action on Sunday as they take on Ursuline at 2 p.m.
