  • Women's Soccer Historic Season Comes to Close

    (ALLENDALE, Mich.) - The women's soccer team advanced to the regional semifinals yesterday afternoon where they took on No. 1 Grand Valley State. Walsh was slotted as the No. 4 seed in the region. The Cavs defeated No. 5 Saginaw Valley in the regional quarterfinal 1-0, to reach yesterday's semifinal match. 
  • Women's Soccer Wins First Ever NCAA Tournament Game

    (ALLENDALE, Michigan) The Women's soccer team had an exciting opening round of the NCAA DII Midwest Regional Soccer tournament. Beating out Saginaw Valley 1-0, the Cavaliers tabbed their first ever NCAA Tournament win.  The victory over the Cardinals helps the Maroon and Gold advance to the Midwest Regional Semifinals on Sunday.

    (MARIETTA, Ohio) - The Walsh Cavaliers' run in the G-MAC tournament came up short this afternoon as the Fighting Scots of Ohio Valley defeated the Cavs 1-0. Ohio Valley entered the contest ranked No. 1 in the conference in No. 3 in regional rankings. Walsh entered the contest No. 3 in the conference and No. 6 in the region.
  • Great Eight Named to G-MAC All-Conference Team, Sanborn Player of the Year

    The Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced its postseason awards this evening and Walsh brought back many honors with eight different players recognized. Brianna Sanborn was the highlight of the evening as the junior forward was named Offensive Player of the Year in addition to being placed on the All-Conference First Team.
  • No. 3 Cavs Shut Down No. 6 Yellow Jackets in G-MAC Quarterfinals

    (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) - Despite rainy conditions, Walsh took care of business in the G-MAC quarterfinals as they defeated Cedarville 2-1. The win advances the Cavaliers to the seminfinals where they will take on either No. 2 Trevecca or No. 7 Davis & Elkins on Thursday, Nov. 1. 
  • Walsh Women Move Ahead To G-MAC Tourney with Shutout of Pioneers

    The regular season came to an end Tuesday at Milazzo Field as Walsh scored a 2-0 victory over arch rival Malone. The good news for the Cavaliers (12-3-1, 11-2-1) is they will advance to the postseason and host a game this Saturday.
  • Sanborn Named G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week

    (INDIANAPOLIS)- Following a hat trick in Saturday's game against Ursuline, Brianna Sanborn was named the G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week. The junior midfielder scored her first goal of Saturday's match in the 53rd minute. She followed with her second goal of the game just three minutes later. Following an Ursuline goal, Sanborn scored her final goal of the night to secure the win (4-1) in the 81st minute. 
  • Sanborn Tricks Ursuline, Treats Walsh To Win

    Brianna Sanborn scored a hat trick and led Walsh to a 4-1 over Ursuline on Senior Day at Milazzo Field Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (11-3-1, 10-2-1) have now their last four games and outscored their opponents 21-5 in that stretch.
  • Cavs Calm, Blank Storm

    It didn’t take long for Walsh to start scoring against Lake Erie in its first game at home in three weeks. Once the first goal was scored just over 10 minutes into the game, the Cavaliers (10-3-1, 9-2-1) poured it on the Storm (5-8-1, 4-7-1) to the tune of 7-0 by the end of full time.
  • Walsh Debuts at No. 9 in First Midwest Regional Poll

    The first regional polls for NCAA Division II women’s soccer were released today and Walsh debuted in the No. 9 spot. The top eight teams in each region make the national tournament with the winner of the G-MAC Tournament getting an automatic bid.
  • Himes Named G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week

    Thanks to her game-winning goal against the first place team in the G-MAC, Alisha Himes has been named this week’s Defensive Player of the Week for the conference. The junior defender scored in the 78th minute to cap a thrilling comeback for Walsh against Ohio Valley on Saturday.
  • Walsh Upsets Ohio Valley in Tough G-MAC Match-Up

    (VIENNA, W.Va.)- The Cavaliers traveled to Ohio Valley to take on perhaps the toughest team in the conference. The Ohio Valley Fighting Scots (10-2-3, 9-1-1) were the G-MAC favorite entering the season, while Walsh (9-3-1, 8-2-1) was ranked third in the preseason poll. The Cavs handed OVU its first conference loss of the season.
  • Olivia Peters Connects on a PK to Spring Cavs into G-MAC 'Ship

    (MARIETTA, Ohio) - It's no surprise that Olivia Peters was involved in both Cavalier goals today as she provided the assist to Brianna Sanborn for the first goal of the afternoon and scored the winning goal on a PK in overtime as No. 3 Walsh upset No. 2 Trevecca Nazarene in the G-MAC semifinals. 
  • Offense Explodes In Route Of Kentucky Wesleyan

    A hat trick by Olivia Peters highlighted a dominating 8-3 win by Walsh over Kentucky Wesleyan to conclude the furthest road trip of the regular season on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (8-3-1, 7-2-1) wasted little time getting started as they scored two goals against the Panthers (4-6-1, 3-5-1) in the first 6:54 of action.
  • Cavs Shut Out In Music City
    October 04, 2018
    A Trevecca goal in the 26th minute doomed Walsh as it was the only score of the game at the Trojan Soccer Complex on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers dropped to 7-3-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the G-MAC. The Trojans improved to 7-3-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the conference.
  • Swift Picked As G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week

    Corynne Swift is this week’s Great Midwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping Walsh to a pair of victories against Tiffin and Findlay last week. The senior defensive midfielder scored a goal against the Dragons and help shutdown the previously unbeaten Oilers from tying the game late.
  • Cavs Hand Findlay First Loss Of Season

    Walsh won its fourth consecutive game and defeated the G-MAC’s first place team with a 2-1 result over Findlay on Saturday. The Cavaliers (7-2-1, 6-1-1) moved into a tie for second place with the come-from-behind victory over the previously unbeaten Oilers (7-1-2, 6-1-2).
  • Women's Soccer Rolls To Third-Straight Shutout

    Another streak is forming as Walsh recorded a third consecutive shutout for the second time this season with a 2-0 victory over Tiffin Thursday evening. The Cavaliers (6-2-1, 5-1-1) played a Dragons (0-9-1, 0-7-1) squad much better than their record indicates and was able to score a pair of goals early to take the lead.

    The well-balanced offense of Walsh struck again as four different players scored goals in a 4-0 shutout of Alderson Broaddus on Saturday evening. The Cavaliers (5-2-1, 4-1-1) had little trouble with the Battlers (0-9, 0-7) and outshot them 30-3.

    Four second half goals highlighted Walsh’s 5-0 win over Davis & Elkins at Milazzo Field on a muggy Thursday evening. The Cavaliers (4-2-1, 3-1-1) got back into the win column as five different players scored goals and six different players recorded assists in the win against the Senators.

    Walsh’s shutout-streak to start the season came to an end at the hands, or feet, of the opponent that ended its season a year ago in Ohio Dominican. A goal by the Panthers (3-1, 2-0) early in the second half was all it took as the Cavaliers (3-1, 2-1) fell 1-0 on the day.
