Well-Oiled Walsh Machine Shuts Out Alderson Broaddus

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The well-balanced offense of Walsh struck again as four different players scored goals in a 4-0 shutout of Alderson Broaddus on Saturday evening. The Cavaliers (5-2-1, 4-1-1) had little trouble with the Battlers (0-9, 0-7) and outshot them 30-3.

The Maroon and Gold pulled a similar feat on Thursday when five players scored goals in a 5-0 win. Today Olivia Peters started the rally with an early goal just over 10 minutes into the contest after she stole the ball away from the defense and dribbled past the goalie for an easy score. It was her third goal of the season and first since a 3-0 win against Cedarville.

The second score didn't come until early in the second half when Brianna Sanborn found the back of the net on an assist from Ashley Dobbins for her team-best fourth goal of the year. Alisha Himes then added her third goal of the campaign on a helper from Haley Dancer in the 72nd minute. Alexis Meffert capped the scoring with a goal in the 86th on Brooke Bowser's assist.

The Walsh defense limited AB's chances, but when called upon, Mickey McClanahan made saves on both of the Battlers' takes on net.

The Cavs will look to make it three in a row when they host Tiffin on Thursday. Kickoff with the Dragons is set for 7:30 p.m.
