Walsh Women Fall at St. Petersburg

(ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.) – Walsh dropped its second and final match of spring break with a 6-3 defeat at the hands of St. Petersburg College on Wednesday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 4-6 on the season, while the Titans are now 5-3.

Pavarnee Karimpour and Sofia Khairutdinova provided the first point with a win at third doubles against Marla Mesa Montoya and Jessica Delarosa-Zimring by a score of 8-4.

Crara Drasch scored another point at third singles against Barbara Damiani. The match was the closest of all nine as Drasch edged Damiani 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4) for the win. Victoria Ambrosio provided the final point as she made short work of Delarosa-Zimring at sixth singles 6-2, 6-0.

Walsh returns to action with a non-conference home contest against Mercyhurst on Friday, March 16, with a 6 p.m. start.
