(HILLSDALE, Mich.) – Walsh's bid for the G-MAC championship hit a hurdle on Saturday as the Cavaliers fell to Hillsdale 8-1. The Cavs finish the conference portion of their schedule at 6-1 and are now 10-9 overall on the season. The Chargers improved to 11-4 overall and are 6-0 heading into tomorrow's match with Findlay where a win would give them the crown.
The Cavaliers became the only team in the conference to score a point on the Chargers as Katarina Razum battled to a victory at fourth singles.
It took a pair of tiebreakers, but German native edged out Corinne Prost 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 10-7 to avoid the shutout.
She was also a part of a close match in doubles action as she paired with Maria Kacalova, but the duo fell to Katie Bell and Prost by a score of 8-5.
Walsh now heads to the Motor City to take on Wayne State Tuesday at 3 p.m.
