Women's Track Strong at Mount Union

(ALLIANCE, Ohio) – The Walsh track & field teams had a spectacular day at Mount Union's Toy Drive Invitational to cap the opening weekend of indoor competition. The Cavaliers had multiple placers in various events with records broken and provo marks hit.

On the women's side, Malia Turley set a new school record in the women's weight throw with a mark of 15.26 meters. Payton Breehl and Annie Fahey were second and third with throws of 14.15 and 13.8 meters, respectively.

Kaitlyn Barber returned to form today with a win in the pole vault. The senior All-American cleared 3.85 meters to take the title. Christine Fiegl won the triple jump in her first appearance for the Cavs with a jump of 10.12 meters.

Morrisa Mallory won the shot put with a throw of 12.99 meters. Malia Turley threw 10.88 meters to finish third.

Katie Mokros won the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.14 and also finished second in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.96. Raquel Jones was third in the 200 with a time of 27.02. Bre Bakan won the mile run with a time of 5:26.93.
