(TIFFIN, Ohio) – The No. 9 Walsh women's track & field team had a split day with four athletes running in another meet hosted by Grand Valley while a bigger select group traveled south to Tiffin for the Dragon Grand Prix on Saturday. The Cavaliers did well at both with a pair of first place finishes and four additional placers in three events.
At Grand Valley, the Cavs' distance medley relay team finished first with a time of 11:37.75 to hit the provisional mark yet again. The team consisted of All-Americans Andra Lehotay, Jetaiya Smith, Tori Reeves, and Sarah Berger.
Fellow All-American Kaitlyn Barber continued a strong season with a first place finish in the pole vault as she cleared 3.85 meters.
Morrisa Mallory finished third in the shot put with a throw of 13.55 meters. Paige Groves also placed in the event with a throw of 11.96 meters, good for eighth. Also in the throws section, Olivia King placed seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 14.48 meters.
Rachael Kotoch finished seventh in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.24. She also ran in the 200 meter dash with another seventh place finish after she clocked in at 27.22.
Walsh will be back in action next week when it heads north for the Kent State Tune-Up.
