INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Following two stellar performances at SPIRE Institute over the weekend, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference named junior Andra Lehotay the Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Monday (Jan. 28).
On Friday, Lehotay was the anchor leg of the first-place distance medley relay team. The quartet of Alexa Leppelmeier, Jetaiya Smith, Megan Soehnlen and Lehotay won the event in a NCAA D2 Provisional time of 12:02.90.
Saturday saw Lehotay topping 83 other athletes in the mile run, where she won the mile with a time of 4:56.99, another NCAA D2 Provisional time. She defeated the field by nearly ten seconds throughout the various heats of the event.
The Walsh women's track and field team will compete at the Mount Union Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 2).
