Walsh Falls in Thrilling Fashion to Cedarville

(CEDARVILLE, Ohio) Walsh (13-4) rallied from a 1-2 deficit, only to fall in five sets to Cedarville University (7-10) by the scores of 25-21, 15-25, 21-25, 25-22, 10-15.  

Walsh led from start-to-finish in the first set in posting a 25-21 win. Cedarville jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the second set and never looked back. The third set was close until kills by Gina Kramer and Lauren Loucks allowed the Cavs to pull away. The next set followed in similar fashion as it was back and fourth action resulting in a set win for the Cavs.

The Cavaliers jumped to a 5-3 lead in the fifth and deciding set, but the Yellow Jackets were able fight back and win by a score of 15-10.

Loucks led Walsh with 14 kills. Kramer was the only other Cavalier to record double digit kills, with 11. Paola Ferrario lead the defense attack with 23 digs and recorded seven kills. Addison Wisehart had three solo blocks along with six kills. Olivia Zanolli recorded 35 assists.

The Cavaliers are back on the road tomorrow as they take on the Panthers of Ohio Dominican at 5 p.m.
