Senior Day A Success As Walsh Defeats Senators

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Senior Day was a success for Walsh as it swept Davis & Elkins to close out the home stand with four consecutive wins. The Cavaliers (19-9, 12-4) took down the Senators (9-19, 7-9) by scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 26-24.

Senior Gina Kramer had one of her best matches of the season as she led all players with 14 kills on the day. Paola Ferrario capped a spectacular week with 12 more kills to give her 53 for the weekend.

Walsh never trailed in the first set and roared back from an early 3-0 deficit in the second with eight of the next nine points to take control. Walsh led by as many as nine in that set before settling for the 25-20 victory.

The third played closer with both teams matching each other for the bulk of the game. Once again, the Cavs didn't trail, but the Senators fought tough to force an extra point scenario in which the Cavs won 26-24.

Amanda Adoranti led the defense with 21 digs. Madison Music capped her Senior Day with 11 digs herself.

Walsh will close the regular season with matches at Lake Erie and Ursuline next week.
