Volleyball Ends Regular Season With W, Head To Conference Tournament

(PEPPER PIKE, Ohio) – Walsh ended the season on a winning note with a 3-0 shutout of Ursuline in G-MAC play on Saturday afternoon. It's the first winning regular season for the Cavaliers (20-10, 13-5) since 2011. They now will head to the conference tournament next week at Hillsdale, while the Arrows end the season at 9-21 overall and 3-15 in the G-MAC.

The first set saw both teams battling close with Walsh edging Ursuline for a 25-23 victory. The next two sets saw the Cavs win by equal 25-17 scores.

Walsh had to fight back from an early 6-1 deficit in the opening game, but eventually did and led the rest of the way after going up 11-10 on an Addison Wisehart kill. Ursuline was able to take early leads the next two games, but Walsh took control shortly after.

Gina Kramer was the only player to reach double-digits in kills with 10 for the Cavs.  Lauren Loucks added nine. Olivia Zanolli set up the offense with 30 assists and added three kills herself.

Defensively Amanda Adoranti dug up 15 attacks for the Arrows. Erica Schiets tallied 10.

The Cavs now head to the G-MAC Tournament where their opponent will be determined later Saturday night.
