Volleyball Sweeps Cedarville For Third-Straight Win

(CEDARVILLE, Ohio) – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference started league play this evening as Walsh swept Cedarville for its third consecutive victory Wednesday evening. The Cavaliers (4-5, 1-0) were able to take down the Yellow Jackets (1-7, 0-1) by scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-19.

It was the first of three consecutive matches on the road for the Maroon and Gold. They will head north to Pepper Pike to take on Ursuline on Friday before returning on Saturday for a contest against Lake Erie.

The duo of Lauren Loucks and Paola Ferrario led the Cavaliers in this contest as both registered double-digits in kills. Loucks led the two with a match-best 13 kills, just one ahead of Ferrario. Both were excellent on attempts as Loucks was just north of .400 while Ferrario came in at .321. Olivia Zanolli was setting up the squad with 35 assists.

The defense was impressively strong as Walsh didn't yield any Yellow Jacket to score more than eight kills which belonged to Lauren Willow. Only one other Cedarville player tallied more than five.

On the opposite end of the Cedarville attacks were Amanda Adoranti and Ferrario with 19 and 14 digs, respectively. Justine Coffman and Hallie Schroeder added a pair of blocks as well.
