(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh had little trouble with Trevecca Nazarene in a three-set shutout as the hosts won by scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-16 on Friday evening. The Cavaliers (8-7, 5-2) rarely trailed at any point as they coasted to the victory over the Trojans (5-7, 3-5).
The Trojans took the Cavaliers point-for-point in the beginning of the third set, but once the game was tied at 8-8, Walsh went on a 10-0 run to put the game and match out of reach.
Lauren Loucks was the main force in that run as she spiked three of her 11 kills during that time. Paola Ferrario led all players in that category with 13. The Maroon and Gold defense did will in limiting Trevecca to just 20 kills on the night. No Trojan recorded more than seven.
Olivia Zanolli was responsible for setting up the attack and made 40 assists. Amanda Adoranti, who was honored before the match for her 1,000th dig, raked up 16 more to her career total. Ferrario added 11 more.
The Cavs will be back in action tomorrow as they host Kentucky Wesleyan in a rare morning contest. Walsh will do battle with the Panthers starting at 10.
