(ROMEOVILLE, Ill.) – The No. 10 Walsh women's cross country team had another spectacular meet as it finished fourth in Lewis' Conference Crossover on Saturday. The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 188 and were the top G-MAC team in the meet.
A total of 35 teams ran in the event with 34 of them being NCAA Division II members. The Cavaliers finished ahead of both No. 5 Hillsdale and No. 8 Southern Indiana.
Cal Baptist won the event with a score of 51 while Grand Valley State was the only other squad in double-digits with a score of 66. Alaska Anchorage was the remaining team to top the Cavaliers with a score of 126.
Sarah Berger once again ran lights-out with a time of 21:31.5, just 13 seconds behind Alaska Anchorage's Caroline Kurgat who turned in the top time of 21:18.9.
Andra Lehotay and Brianna Coy were the next Cavalier thin clads to cross the finish line in back-to-back fashion in 38th and 39th place. Both crossed with the same time of 22:41.3 with Lehotay getting the edge on placement.
The Cavaliers will return to their normal schedule of a race every other week with the G-MAC Championships next up on the schedule. Walsh will head south to the Music City as Trevecca Nazarene University hosts the event in two weeks.
