Lehotay and Kernell Earn All-American Honors

KINGSVILLE, Texas - The Walsh Cavaliers outdoor track and field team concluded the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championships with two All-Americans following events on Friday (May 24) and Saturday (May 25). 

Andra Lehotay became an eight-time career All-American when she achieved First Team All-American honors in the Women's 1500 Meter Run. Jacob Kernell earned Second Team All-American accolades in the Men's 3000 Meter Steeplechase. 

Kernell capped his Walsh career with an eleventh-place finish on Friday in the Steeplechase. He ran a time of 9:32.37 in the final, putting him Second Team All-American. 

Lehotay became an Outdoor All-American for the third straight year after she placed seventh in the 1500 Meter Run, running a time of 4:38.11. She earned the Cavaliers two points as the women's team finished tied for 62th.
