NORTH CANTON, Ohio - On the heels of a Great Midwest Women's Soccer Quarterfinal win against Findlay, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference awarded goalkeeper Romina Parraguez with Defensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday (Nov. 9).
Parraguez played 110 minutes plus some on Saturday as the Cavaliers pulled the upset in penalty kicks against the Oilers. As the #6 seed, Walsh limited the #3 seeded Oilers to three shots on defense, including two on goal over the course of the contest.
In penalty kicks, Walsh won 3-0 as the Oilers were shutout in the sudden-death shootout.
Walsh will play the #2 seeded Cedarville Yellow Jackets on Thursday (Nov. 11) at Ashland, beginning at 7:00 PM in the G-MAC Semifinal.
