Cavaliers Split During Final Day of Florida Trip

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Cavaliers wrapped up their final two games in Florida on Friday (March 8) at Osceola Heritage Park. Walsh fell in a morning contest against Northern State 6-5, but rallied in the afternoon game against Wayne State (Mich.) to harness a 4-2 victory over the Warriors.

Vs. Northern State:

Walsh and Northern State were evenly matched throughout the contest as they entered the final inning tied 5-5. The Cavaliers gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth to allow for the Wolves to garner the 6-5 win. 

Andrew Czech and Jacob Beachy connected for two hits a piece to lead the Cavaliers from the batter's box. For Northern State, Hayden Houts had three hits on the day. 

For the Cavs, Nik Bardull, Brady Rupp, Frank Frate, and Ben Bulchik all shared time on the mound. Bulchik took the loss, as he pitched the final inning of the contest. John Poldberg recorded his first win of the season for the Wolves. 

Vs. Wayne State (Mich.): 

The Cavs gave Wayne State their second loss of the season, as the Warriors were 9-1 prior to yesterday's match-up. Walsh remained scoreless until the eighth inning, when they scored three runs and one more run in the ninth. Avery Janning and Brenden Spaulding had two hits a piece. 

Nick Bebout almost threw a complete game as he went for over eight innings. Bebout faced 33 batters as he recorded his first win of the season. Justin Hovorka came in for the save, throwing four pitches to strike out the final batter. 

The Cavaliers will return home to face Alderson Broaddus in a four game series March 16-17 to tip-off G-MAC action.
